Notice of Race
Memorial Day Regatta
May 23rd & 24th, 2026
Join us on beautiful Lake Maumelle for the annual Memorial Day Regatta, a favorite GMSC tradition that blends great racing with classic clubhouse camaraderie. Racing begins Saturday, followed by dinner at the clubhouse, and continues Sunday with an awards social after the final race. The regatta is open to club members and guests sailing Y-Flyers, Flying Scots, and Hobies.
Rules
The regatta will be governed by Rules in the current Racing Rules of Sailing, Fleet Rules, and the current GMSC Centerboard Instructions.
Eligibility
The regatta is open to all active fleets. Competitors from outside clubs are welcome, but advance notice is required to plan accordingly for meals and camping permits as needed.
Entry & Fees
Registration is available online and in-person on race day. This regatta will be hosted by Grande Maumelle. There is no entry fee. Please register in advance, but we will also accept in-person entries.

In lieu of staying with a club member, there are many AirBnBs and a few hotels in the vicinity of GMSC, Aloft Promenade is the closest. Camping is available at Maumelle Park 501-868-9477 about 20 minutes from the club.
Please note: swimming and camping are not allowed without a permit.
Also note: we have not secured a camping permit for this event, but could if needed.

Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk.
The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with, prior to, during or after the regatta. See the Racing Rules of Sailing Rule 4, Decision to Race.
Participating adults and minors give implied consent for use of their likeness for the purpose of digital and printed promotional materials and social media. Participants waive any rights of compensation or ownership thereto, provided they are used for lawful purposes.
