Ahoy, Parents and Grandparents
GMSC is excited to announce Junior Learn-to-Sail will be held June 9-13. This program will be offered to children and grandchildren of GMSC members and will be taught on Optis and Sunfish.
Our very own Gillian “Lou” Shapley who grew up in GMSC’s JLTS program has received the U.S. Sailing Small Boat Instructor certification and will be our head coach. Lou was our Assistant Coach last year and did very well leading and instructing. We are again recruiting other local talent to assist with instruction. This is a wonderful opportunity for our juniors who are ready to be counselors and assistant coaches.
Parent and grandparent volunteers are needed and encouraged! We will have a wide range of volunteer roles available to suit a variety of talents.
Our kids are the future of GMSC and we endeavor to start early to cultivate lifelong sailors!
WHAT: Junior Learn-to-Sail
WHEN: Monday – Friday, June 9-13
TIME: 9am-1:30pm
WHO: Beginner and intermediate GMSC sailors between the ages of 7 and 16
