GMSC Members,

It is a big week for GMSC!  In partnership with US Sailing, GMSC is hosting the Championship of Champions Regatta at the club starting today, Wednesday, October 2 through Sunday, October 6.

We are expecting 20 national champions of various one-design fleets from all over the US, from New York to California, to arrive in Little Rock to race in Y-Flyers to determine who among these national champions is THE CHAMPION!  For complete list of attendees, please see below.

I am incredibly proud of the way our members have come together to get our club ready and plan the absolute best Championship of Champions regatta. Your dedication, hard work, and team spirit are truly inspirational, and I know the event will be a tremendous success.

All Members Invited and Encouraged to Attend Tonight, Wednesday 2:

Tonight is the welcome aboard, which is open to all members.  This will be a Cajun Supper at the clubhouse starting around 5:30. Please join and help welcome the competitors. Dinner, drinks and fun provided!

The rest of the regatta meals and events are limited to the competitors and designated volunteers due to space limitations.

Additional Information:

• Spectators: GMSC members are welcome to take their own spectator boat out and watch the races (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). All spectator boats need to remain off the racecourse and well back from competitors, so as not to impact their wind or get in their way.
• Parking: We are expecting around ~70-75 people out at the club each day, between the competitors and designated volunteers for the event. If you are out at the club, please park your car in an area that does not block regatta activity. If possible, please leave ample parking around the pavilion and centerboard parking lot to accommodate the competitors.
• Kiko’s Corner – Kiko’s corner is being used for the regatta starting today through Sunday, October 6. Please keep this area clear from boats, cars, trailers, etc. 

This event is truly something for our club to be proud of! Please help us welcome these competitors and show them what the best CoC regatta looks like!
