Hawg Wild Regatta
May 25th & 26th, 2024
Join us for GMSC’s 40th Annual Hawg Wild Regatta!
Rules
The regatta will be governed by Rules in the current Racing Rules of Sailing, the Class Rules of each fleet, and the current GMSC Centerboard Instructions.
Eligibility
The regatta is open to Y-Flyers, Flying Scots, Thistles, and Catamarans.
Competitors from outside clubs are welcome, but advance notice is required to plan accordingly for meals and camping permits as needed.
Entry & Fees
Registration is available online and in-person on race day. A 10% discount is given for early registration prior to Monday at Midnight, May 13th. Please register online to help with food planning, even if paying by cash, check, or charge “at the door.” $70 covers regatta entry and meals for skipper and up to two crew. Additional meals may be purchased by adding crew at registration for $10. Register at GMSC.org

FRIDAY, MAY 24th
6pm Welcome Aboard Cajun Supper at the Pavilion! Registration available.
SATURDAY, MAY 25th
8am Breakfast at the Clubhouse
10am Registration at Pavilion
10:45am Competitors Meeting at Pavilion
11am Lunch dockside at Pavilion
Noon Harbor Gun
Dinner and drinks to follow at the Clubhouse circa 6pm
SUNDAY, MAY 26th
8am Breakfast Self-Serve at the Clubhouse
10am Harbor Gun
No races will start after Noon.
After racing Awards Presentation at the Clubhouse
MONDAY, MAY 27th Memorial Day Raft-Up Party after Noon (weather permitting.)
Courses
Courses will be announced at the Competitors Meeting.
We will attempt to sail as many races as possible. One race constitutes a series.
Five races must be completed to warrant a throw-out.
Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to skippers and crews first through third place in each fleet.
Housing
We will provide housing on a first come, first serve basis. Contact Drew Daugherty to request housing at drew.daugherty@sbcglobal.net or call an old friend.
In lieu of staying with a club member, there are many hotels in the vicinity of GMSC, Aloft Promenade is the closest. Camping is available at Maumelle Park 501-868-9477 about 20 minutes from the club.
Please note: swimming and camping are not allowed without a permit.
Also note: we have not secured a camping permit for this event, but could if needed.
Disclaimer of Liability and Likeness
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk.
The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with, prior to, during or after the regatta.

Participating adults and minors give implied consent for use of their likeness for the purpose of digital and printed promotional materials and social media. Participants waive any rights of compensation or ownership thereto, provided they are used for lawful purposes.
Trash/Recycling
Please ensure your recycling and trash are separated before disposing of waste. Aluminum and glass recycling can be found at the clubhouse.
Trash dumpsters are available beyond the club gates at the public marina.
